Taurus R. Jerelds,the founder and artistic director of the TJ'S Dance Conservatory. He is a native of Orlando, Florida. Mr. Jerelds began his dance career at the early age of 16 with a Hip-Hop dance organization "Stikman Entertainment". He began seeking training in Modern Dance, Ballet, and Traditional African Movement after graduating from Jones High School. In 1997 he attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida where he began performing with Orchesis Contemporary Dance Theatre and The African Caribbean Dance Theatre. In addition to, Jerelds shared his talent and time with Essence Dance Theatre by nurturing the mind and body of numerous dancers through his chorographical skills. He has been privileged to work with many world renowned professional choreographers and dance instructors such as Hope Boykin, Allyne Gartrell, Onye Ozuzu, Marcus Rinbinson, Dr. Berverly Barber, Dr. E. Gaynell Sherrod, Seiji Gammage, Carol McCoy, Lawrence Jackson and many more. As a dancer he has over a decade of training and performance experience.
Mr. Jerelds is aslo an advocator for the men and women affected by the HIV/ADS Epidimic. He has been devoted to educating the community through outreach and dance.He is also a member of MOD Inc. (Men of Distinc)
